When to sow Australian native strawflower seeds?
Ideal sowing time is Autumn and Winter, and blooms are most prolific in Winter and Spring but these native wildflowers can do quite well if the seed is sown any time of the year (avoiding the hottest and coldest weeks), and can flower all year round.
How to sow Everlasting Daisy seeds
Unlike other Australian native plants, these wildflower seeds do not require any pre-treatment, soaking or smoke treatment, they're ready to sow as soon as they arrive.
Sow on the surface of the soil, and cover very lightly so that the seed still has access to some sunlight.
Do Paper Daisy seedlings transplant well?
Yes! These varieties all transplant well, and are perfect seeds to start in our Growing Healthier Futures Seedling Plug Trays, before being transplanted out into the garden or into pots.
Alternatively, you can sprinkle seeds in their final growing place ensuring it gets plenty of sunlight and you keep up regular watering until they're well established.
Are Everlasting Daisies annuals or perennials?
Most are considered annual flowers, but some will live for more than one season and all of these varieties will self-seed in the right conditions, returning to fill your garden with joy year after year.
Are Everlasting Daisies drought hardy?
Yes! These Australian Native everlasting flower varieties love being in the sun and they bounce back very well after dry spells. However, in order to keep the leaves looking lush and green, they do thrive best when given regular watering. They're also tolerant of a light frost.
